Being a vegetarian I was quite happy when I was checking out these sites that list subscription boxes that deliver to Canada (Beautiful Onyx & Mick, Canadian Subscription Box Addict) and I found Petit Vour. The promise of toxic free, cruelty free, vegan products was definitely appealing to me. Having never signed up before to any subscription boxes I didn’t really know what to expect, but the entire process with Petit Vour was seamless and painless. In fact, I signed up at approx. 10:30 pm on August 25th and on August 27th I received an email that my box had shipped. Obviously there is a delay from when they get credit card approval to when it shows up on my account, but it was still exciting to see my first subscription box had shipped before my Visa showed a deduction. The box arrived in approx. 2 weeks, packaged small enough to fit into my mailbox in one of those group mailbox things, but large enough to hold 3 wonderful samples and 1 full size item. It all looked minimalistic but appealing, I was impressed and I was very excited to try everything.

Inside the Petit Vour August Subscription Box:
Formulary 55 – Sea Mineral Body Polish, Grapefruit & Rosemary, 1.5 oz small batch body treatment
True Moringa Lavender Facial Oil – 2 ml sized sample
BOX Naturals Luxe Towelettes – 1 individually wrapped towelette Lavender scented
Lily Lolo Sculpt & Glow Contour Duo (full size)

Formulary 55 – Sea Mineral Body Polish, Grapefruit & Rosemary, 1.5 oz small batch body treatment
On the Package: Made with Dead Sea mineral salts and essential oils of grapefruit & rosemary.
I made this body scrub using 2 TBS of coconut oil for an extra moisturizing boost as described on the package.

Once the body polish, that was scented with natural essential oils, was mixed with the coconut oil it made a nice paste but the only thing you could really smell was the strong coconut scent from the oil. I showered as normal then at the end, after I rinsed the soap off, I applied the scrub. One thing I hadn’t really thought about beforehand was that once I applied coconut oil all over my body I was going to be dancing against my will all over the entire bathtub. It was entertaining and a bit freaky before I realized why I was being so ungraceful, while naked, with water hitting my face. I have to admit, I am always running late so applying lotion is generally an afterthought for me therefore my skin is usually quite dry. After I used the body scrub with coconut oil though my skin felt revitalized, wonderful and more moisturized than it ever has with any moisturizer, without being greasy. This is definitely a product I will be buying for myself.

True Moringa Lavender Facial Oil – 2 ml sized sample
On the Package: Combines the unique antiaging and moisturizing properties of moringa with the skin-soothing beauty of lavender. The company works directly with over 1,600 small farming families in Ghana to cultivate our natural ingredients, ethically and sustainably.

I washed my face as I would normally then used the moringa oil in place of my moisturizer. The moringa oil felt really nice and quite soothing on my face when I applied it and it was also lighter than my normal moisturizer. My face felt wonderful and refreshed every day, not clogged or heavy even though it had a slight slippery feel to it that wasn’t transferable. I wash my face twice a day and this sample lasted me four days. I loved it and I only got one pimple while using it, which is a win in my books. I’ll be purchasing this one for myself also.

BOX Naturals Luxe Towelettes – 1 individually wrapped towelette Lavender scented
On the Petit Vour Web-Site: Made with all natural ingredients and scented with organic essential oils. Every ingredient in the towelette serves a specific purpose – there’s nothing that isn’t absolutely necessary. Nontoxic towelettes for all skin types. They are pH balanced, 100% biodegradable, and free of parabens, dyes, petrochemicals, sulfates and synthetic fragrances. Cleans & freshens up (all sorts of things) gently and naturally.

When I first opened the package I was really impressed with the lovely lavender scent that escaped and I was so looking forward to finding a face wipe that my face could use. I have a problem with face wipes because my very sensitive face does not usually like when I use them. Unfortunately, this wipe was no different. I’m not sure if it was from the ingredients or the wipe itself, but my face started burning slightly, immediately after I started using it. The wipe did not remove my waterproof eye make-up either, even after I scrubbed out a few precious eyelashes. It’s been one and a half weeks since I used it and my face is finally clearing up from the breakout I received. I will say that my face might have already been a bit stressed because I had just used the moringa oil for four days and just finished it two days prior to using the wipe, but considering how my face usually reacts with wipes, it’s hard to say. I don’t think I will buy these to try again though even if they were the loveliest scented wipes I have ever tried.

Lily Lolo Sculpt & Glow Contour Duo
On the Petit Vour Web-Site: Foolproof trick to glowing skin, enviable contours and sky-high cheekbones. Gives Nature a helping hand, creating flawless, beautifully defined and contoured canvas and casting your features in their best light.

Wow! This full size, contour duo was so smooth, soft and silky, it was amazing. I wasn’t expecting that. I really loved how the duo allowed me to keep the natural look I enjoy but just help accentuate my features. I haven’t gotten all make-up’ed up since I received this box but I’m kind of looking forward to getting all done up one night, contouring my face, giving myself some sexy smoky eyes and heading out. In public. You know, goals.
